From Las Vegas Sun - Despite Lopsided Lines, Cotto Margarito to be Among Best Bouts of Year
First of all, why are the headlines on the Las Vegas Sun website so big and so long? Ridiculous. Anyway, Cotto should win, but +230 is a pretty darn good value on a guy who less than a year ago was the most avoided fighter in the division, if not the sport. Yes he’s looked old in his past few fights, but Margarito is by no means washed up. This is going to be a competitive fight. Apparently I’m in the minority, but i think this is going to be a relatively short fight - seven or eight rounds at the most - so if you don’t feel comfortable taking Margarito but still want value, take the under and the +150.
From The Sentinel (UK) - Bookies Refuse to Honour 2,400 (euro) Win
1. Am I the only person who’s never heard of the expression “sick as a parrot”?
2. Don’t the Brits make gambling sound a lot classier?
3. I’d be pissed too. A Parlay on Spain and David Villa? I’m guessing the guy was “pissed” on Guinness and just picked the two out of a hat. But still.
From Gambling 911.com -Internet Gambling Revenue to be Used for Job Training and Foster Care Programs
Hmm. Ok. I guess whatever road leads to legalizing online gambling is fine by me. But funding job training and foster care programs with money from people who are losing their jobs and neglecting their kids to go big on the a three-teamer? Seems kind of like an endless loop to me. Oh well.
